(Seoul = Larose.VIP) Reporter Ahn Chae-won and Kim Chi-yeon = There is an increasing number of people in the ruling party, the People Power Party, who are certifying that they have seen the documentary film ‘National Foundation War,’ which sheds light on the life and political career of former President Syngman Rhee.

Emergency Response Committee Chairman Han Dong-hoon also watched the movie on the 12th, and the leadership of the ruling party also seems to be trying to promote a ‘nation-founding war’.

According to a party official, Chairman Han watched the ‘National Foundation War’ with some officials from the emergency committee chairman’s office at a movie theater in Yeouido, Seoul this afternoon.

The film focuses on highlighting the achievements of former President Lee, the founding president, such as his youthful independence movement, his belief in liberal democracy, and land reform during his term in office.

Previously, ruling party lawmakers encouraged viewers to watch the movie by leaving reviews on social media during the Lunar New Year holiday.

Representative Kim Young-sik left a review on Facebook, saying, “The ‘founding war’ served as an opportunity to reflect on the importance of the legitimacy of the Republic of Korea’s system and the spirit of the Constitution, and to confirm the superiority of the market economy under solid security.”

Rep. Park Soo-young also pledged, “This coming April’s general election will be the ‘second founding war.’ The liberal right must win and restore our proud history of nation-building, industrialization, democratization, and advancement.”

Former Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Park Min-sik wrote, “I hope that the political leaders of the Republic of Korea should not be buried in a one-eyed view of history, but should objectively view Syngman Rhee’s achievements as engineering and science as exaggeration.”

Former lawmaker Na Kyung-won said on Facebook the previous day, “I hope that through this film, the evaluation of the heroes of the Republic of Korea will be corrected and pride in the Republic of Korea will be solidified.”
