Patient nursing record voice input system

Patient nursing record voice input system

(Daejeon = Larose.VIP) Reporter Park Joo-young = Daejeon St. Mary’s Hospital of the Catholic University of Korea announced on the 14th that it had introduced the ‘VOICE Electronic Nursing Records’ system for the first time in the central region.

It is a platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) voice recognition technology to allow nurses to input medical records by voice on their smartphones in real time.

When a nurse says, “I will draw blood,” and then scans the patient’s barcode, the patient’s confirmation and collection date and time are converted into letters and automatically stored in the electronic nursing record system.

It is expected that the time it takes to check patients, check blood transfusion packs, cross-check workers, enter vital signs, and complete records when performing blood transfusion work can be reduced by half compared to existing work.

Daejeon St. Mary’s Hospital is expanding its interactive voice recognition function for communication with patients, while also developing functions to improve patient safety and work efficiency.

Min Seung-hee, head of the nursing department at Daejeon St. Mary’s Hospital, said, “Nurses had to keep records of each nursing care detail, so they had to spend a considerable amount of time not only taking care of patients but also writing records.” He added, “The introduction of voice electronic nursing records increased direct nursing time for patients. “It will contribute to increasing the number,” he said.
