(Incheon = Larose.VIP) Reporter Eunji Choi = Ongjin-gun, Incheon City, which consists of only about 100 islands and has a poor medical system, has established an emergency system in preparation for mass action by doctors.

Ongjin-gun announced on the 15th that it would operate an emergency medical treatment system in preparation for collective action in the medical community following the government’s policy of increasing the number of medical school students.

Ongjin-gun will establish an emergency medical response situation room with two people per team to check the operation status of medical institutions until the relevant situation is over.

In addition, if a mass closure is expected, a medical treatment order will be issued, and when a mass closure begins, an order to commence work will also be issued.

Baekryeong Hospital, a local emergency medical institution, will maintain a 24-hour emergency treatment system as usual, but will also establish an emergency treatment system by designating on-call doctors for each specialty.

In Ongjin-gun, where more than 30% of the total residents are elderly, only one Baengnyeong Hospital and two private clinics are in operation. There are a total of 20 health institutions, including public health centers and health clinics.

An Ongjin-gun official said, “To date, it has been determined that there are no medical institutions in Ongjin-gun that are participating in group actions such as closing down,” and added, “If an emergency situation occurs, we plan to strengthen emergency treatment at health institutions.”
