(Busan = Larose.VIP) Reporter Cho Jeong-ho = Busan City will provide child-centered support in all areas, including medical care, childcare, education, safety, and infrastructure, to create a ‘Western Mountain that is good for raising children’.

On the afternoon of the 15th, Busan City announced that it held the ’14th West Busan Field Meeting’ presided over by Mayor Park Hyeong-jun at the Gangseo-gu Childcare Comprehensive Support Center and discussed ways to realize a child-friendly childcare environment.

Previously, at the ‘People’s Livelihood Debate’ held in Busan on the 13th, President Yoon Seok-yeol boldly promoted the ‘Three Major People’s Livelihood Packages for the Local Era’ linking jobs, talent, and living environment, and discussed settlement conditions in the Busan region such as education, medical care, and culture. promised to dramatically improve.

The meeting, which was held after the People’s Livelihood Debate, expressed the city’s will to accelerate the creation of a good environment for raising children, focusing on the West Busan area, Busan’s new growth axis.

Prior to the meeting, Mayor Park visited Myongji Children’s Hospital, which has been operating as the first Moonlight Children’s Hospital in the western mountain region since the 1st, to ‘realize the establishment of a child-safe medical service system’ and inspected the status of operation of the children’s emergency medical service system.

Next, we checked the facilities and operation programs of the Gangseo-gu Childcare Comprehensive Support Center, the meeting location, and looked at the role of childcare support base organizations in the region.

At the meeting, we intensively reviewed child-centered policies in each field, including medical care, childcare, education, safety, and infrastructure, and discussed in depth the current tasks and implementation plans for creating a child-friendly urban environment.

In order to quickly resolve the gap in children’s medical care, the city decided to support the operating costs of Dalbit Children’s Hospital with 400 million won, and to review differential support for operating costs depending on the hospital’s operating hours to expand the participation of hospitals at all levels in Dalbit Children’s Hospital.

To encourage the influx of excellent pediatricians and adolescents residents to Busan, we plan to provide a local residence support allowance of 1 million won per month to ensure that children born in Busan can receive high-quality medical services.

In the field of childcare, we decided to explore ways to fully promote the nation’s first Busan-type care system (integrated Neulbom Project), which takes responsibility from birth to education, by establishing a cooperative system with the city, district, county, office of education, and local universities.

Daycare centers (nights and holidays) and kindergartens (evenings and all day), extended childcare and care, 365 open part-time emergency care, 24-hour care center, Neulbom School with integrated after-school school and care for elementary school students, 120,000 won per month part-time childcare support, etc., 365 days a year. Expand and build the public care system.

In order to expand childcare and care service infrastructure, we plan to build additional public daycare centers and family centers in the western mountain area and expand shared care centers.

Establishment of excellent middle and high schools including autonomous public high schools, opening of 16 schools, creation of safe school routes for Gwaebeop Elementary School, creation of Sasang Forest Experience Education Center and Busan Library Cultural Park, construction of 4 national sports centers, and construction of Nakdong Art Center to create a child-friendly childcare environment. We plan to accelerate.

Mayor Park said, “Realizing western mountains that are good for raising children is really important for balanced development between East and West, and we will increase policy effectiveness through on-site communication that comprehensively considers each field, including medical care and education.”
