There was no difference of opinion between supporters of the ruling and opposition parties, with 81% of respondents supporting the People Power Party and 73% of respondents supporting the Democratic Party of Korea giving a positive evaluation.

Reasons for viewing the expansion of medical schools positively include ‘shortage of doctors, need to expand supply’ (40%), ‘increased convenience for people and improved medical services’ (17%), ‘lack of local medical care, concentration in large cities’ (15%), ‘ ‘Resolving the problem of shortage and avoidance of specialists in specific departments’ (4%) was cited.

Reasons for a negative view include ‘concerns about a decline in medical quality and expertise’ (16%), ‘medical problems not resolved/insufficient effectiveness’ (14%), ‘impatience, pushiness, and insufficient preparation’, and ‘excessive increase in personnel’ (above) 12%), and ‘promoting medical school concentration and private education’ (11%) were mentioned.
