(Seongnam = Larose.VIP) Reporter Lee Woo-seong = Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province, joined hands with related organizations in the bio sector to attract a bio national high-tech strategic industrial complex.

On the 16th, the city signed a business agreement at City Hall with 11 industry, academia, research, and hospital institutions in the bio field, including CHA Biotech, Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, and Institut Pasteur Korea, to ‘vitalize the bio health industry in Seongnam City and designate a specialized complex.’

According to the agreement, Seongnam City will work to revitalize the bio-health industry and attract a specialized bio-national high-tech strategic industry complex, and Seongnam Industrial Complex Management Corporation, Seongnam City Government Research Institute, and Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency will support the city’s activities to attract specialized complexes.

Eight institutions, including CHA Biotech, Dimed, Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, CHA Bundang Hospital, Institut Pasteur Korea, Korea Institute of Electronic Technology, Gachon University, and Eulji University, promised to cooperate in external exchanges to revitalize Seongnam City’s biohealth industry and promote specialized complexes. .

This position was prepared to establish a foundation for cooperation to attract the Bio National High-Tech Strategic Industrial Complex announced by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in December last year to Seongnam.

Seongnam Mayor Shin Sang-jin said, “By attracting a bio-specialized complex, we will specialize and foster Pangyo 1st and 2nd Techno Valley as an R&D and manufacturing base in the high-tech bio field, Seongnam High-Tech Valley as a production base, and Jeongja-dong Biohealth High-Tech Cluster as a high-tech bio innovation cluster.” He said.

In order to secure a new growth engine for the biohealth industry, Seongnam City is promoting a biohealth cutting-edge cluster measuring approximately 99,000㎡ on the site of the Jeongja-dong Housing Exhibition Center by 2029.

The city plans to submit an application for a bio-specialty complex public offering to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy by the end of this month.
