(Busan = Larose.VIP) Reporter Jo Jung-ho = With more than 2,000 players from 47 countries participating in the ‘2024 Busan World Table Tennis Championships’, Busan City is making all-out efforts to prevent infectious diseases.

Busan City announced on the 19th that on the 14th and 15th, it provided infectious disease prevention training to staff at lodging facilities in Haeundae-gu, Busan, where officials of the ‘2024 Busan World Table Tennis Championships’ are staying.

While measles and respiratory infectious diseases are prevalent worldwide, the city has taken proactive measures to prevent infectious diseases as a large number of domestic and foreign athletes and tournament officials visit Busan to host the ‘2024 Busan World Table Tennis Championships’.

The city toured seven lodging facilities in Haeundae-gu and provided education on infectious disease prevention, including proper hand washing and cough etiquette.

In addition, they provided information on infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, AIDS, and leprosy, provided quarantine supplies such as hand sanitizers, disinfectant sprays, and masks, and asked people to follow personal quarantine rules.

Lee So-ra, director of the Busan City Citizens’ Health Bureau, said, “To prevent infectious diseases, please strictly follow personal quarantine rules such as proper hand washing and cough etiquette,” and added, “The city has established a response system that can respond quickly in the event of an infectious disease outbreak to prepare for the 2024 Busan World Table Tennis Championships. “I will ensure that it is completed successfully,” he said.
