Busan City expands support for call taxis exclusively for pregnant women

(Busan = Larose.VIP) Reporter Cho Jung-ho = Busan City announced on the 19th that it will expand support for call taxis (hereinafter referred to as Mamacall) for pregnant women starting March 1.

The amount of support will be increased from 20,000 won to 40,000 won per month, and the frequency limit will be adjusted from 4 times a month to unlimited.

Mama Call is a call taxi exclusively for pregnant women introduced by Busan City in 2020 for the first time among special and metropolitan cities across the country to respond to the declining birth rate and provide pregnant women with transportation convenience such as hospital treatment.

Pregnant women who are registered as residents of the city can use Mamacall for up to one year after giving birth.

Mamacall is popular among pregnant women as it can be used for 1,800 won for the basic 5 km, which is cheaper than regular taxi fares.

After registering proof of pregnancy or childbirth in the Mamacall dedicated application, going through screening and approval, and completing membership registration, you can use Mamacall services, such as car calling, through the dedicated app.

In order to flexibly respond to the low birth rate crisis, the city allocated a Mamacall support budget of 1.4 billion won, 400 million won more than last year.

The Mamacall project is being operated by the Busan Facilities Corporation.
