Prime Video has signed a distribution deal with Sony Pictures Television (SPT), a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), to launch additional subscriptions to the streaming service for Indian viewers.

Sony Pictures – Stream will offer movies and shows from SPE to its Prime Video channels and subscribers for an additional introductory annual subscription of Rs. 399.

“We are excited to launch Sony Pictures – Stream, a new Prime Video channel specially curated for Indian customers.

Vivek Srivastava, Head of Channels, Prime Video, India, said, “This collaboration will enable Sony Pictures Entertainment to tap into India’s huge and beloved library from one place in India and reach out to customers across the country through Prime Video channels. .” he said.

Sonika Bhasin, Vice President, South Asia, Sony Pictures Television, said the partnership with Prime Video will enable Indian viewers to access content from SPE’s extensive library of award-winning films and critically acclaimed TV series.

“And to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Columbia Pictures, part of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sony Pictures – Stream is giving customers access to many of the studio’s favorite films from across the decades. “It highlights the studio’s history and incredible cinematic legacy.” Basin has been added.

Last December, news broke that Amazon would soon begin placing ads on Prime Video. Amazon Prime users in the United States have reportedly received communication from Amazon stating that their standard Amazon Prime plan will display ads while streaming movies and TV shows.
