Singer Bangsil

(Seoul = Larose.VIP) Reporter Tae-su Lee = Singer Bangsil (real name Bangyeon-soon), a former member of the Seoul Sisters, who left behind hit songs such as ‘Seoul Tango’ and ‘First Tea’, passed away at a nursing hospital in Ganghwa, Incheon on the morning of the 20th. He died at the age of 61.

According to the music industry on the 20th, Bangsil passed away from cerebral infarction, which he had been fighting for for 17 years since 2007.

The deceased, born in 1963 and from Ganghwa Island, Incheon, began his career in the 8th US Army in the 1980s and formed the female trio Seoul Sisters with Park Jin-sook and Yang Jeong-hee in 1985.

With his cool singing ability, he made hits such as ‘First Train’, ‘Bat Horn’, and ‘Youth Train’.

After the disbandment of Seoul Sisters, Bangsil went solo in 1990 and enjoyed popularity by releasing songs such as ‘Seoul Tango’ and ‘A Woman’s Heart’.

While Bangsil was consistently releasing new songs and working in the 2000s, he collapsed from a cerebral infarction in 2007 and has been fighting the disease for the past 17 years.

Last year, he appeared on TV Chosun’s ‘Star Documentary My Way’ and revealed that he was paralyzed from a cerebral infarction and almost lost his eyesight due to retinopathy due to diabetes, causing regret.

The funeral was set up at the Chamsarang Funeral Home in Ganghwa-gun, Incheon.
