Nothing Phone 2a is scheduled to launch in India on March 5. Ahead of the launch, new design renders have been leaked that hint at what the smartphone will look like. According to the leak, there may be a pill-shaped camera module at the back with a dual camera setup. The Nothing Phone 2a is expected to offer notable upgrades over the Nothing Phone 1 and will be cheaper compared to the Nothing Phone 2. The company has also officially revealed the processor details of the phone.

Renderings of the design were shared by SmartPrix in collaboration with tipster @OnLeaks. Renderings were created at 5K resolution using computer-aided design (CAD). It shows a camera module that is completely different from those that appeared previously. On the back panel, we can see a pill-shaped dual camera setup arranged horizontally. You will see three LED strips around the camera module which should create the Nothing’s Glyph interface, also known as Glyph Lights. Among them, two curved bands appear to be placed on the left, and a vertical straight band appears to be placed on the right.

The translucent back panel of the Nothing Phone 2a render also allows various screws and devices to be visible. The company’s branding can be seen aligned vertically towards the bottom left. The smartphone is seen in Dark Gray finish.

Previously, Fei made fun of the processor installed in the smartphone and said, “It’s not the Dimension City 7200.” Now, on Monday, the company has officially revealed that it is the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC. In the video, Nothing’s product marketing manager Raymond Zhu said that they chose the MediaTek chipset over two Qualcomm chipsets (Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and Snapdragon 782G). Because the former provides better performance. A separate post revealed that it is a custom chipset co-engineered exclusively by MediaTek and the smartphone maker.

According to previous reports, Nothing Phone 2a will feature a 6.7-inch full HD+ OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The phone may also come with NothingOS 2.5.2 based on Android 14 and may come with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. As for optics, the rear camera panel could feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor along with another 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. It is expected to be equipped with a 32-megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video calls. It will also likely feature a 5,000mAh battery along with 45W wired charging support.
