The province plans to establish an oriental medicine promotion policy support group comprised of oriental medicine-related experts as early as this year.

To this end, a related ordinance plan will be submitted to the extraordinary session of the Provincial Council in April.

The Oriental Medicine Promotion Policy Support Group will carry out projects, education, and research to develop and support Oriental medicine policies.

In particular, after training 76 oriental medicine and public health doctors working in 17 public health centers in urban-rural complex cities in the province, starting next year, we plan to promote on-site treatment projects for paralysis, pain, cognitive decline, etc. for elderly people with mobility issues.

A provincial official said, “Following the creation of the nation’s first oriental medicine team at the Department of Health and Medical Services in December last year, we decided to establish an oriental medicine promotion policy support group,” and added, “We are also promoting a home treatment project for the homes of seniors with mobility issues, rather than senior centers and senior welfare facilities.” “It is the first among local governments,” he said.
