The long-awaited expansion for Elden Ring has finally been released with a trailer. Developer FromSoftware has confirmed that the first trailer for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be released on February 21st. The trailer, which will be released on Wednesday at 7am PST (or 8:30pm IST), includes gameplay from the upcoming major expansion. The presentation will likely also provide details about the expansion’s release date. Shadow of Erdtree was first announced almost a year ago, in February 2023.

The official Elden Ring account on The presentation is confirmed to be 3 minutes long and will include optional language subtitles. The trailer will debut on Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco’s YouTube channel, which already has a stream of trailers up, and is expected to premiere later today.

Shadow of Erdtree was first announced on February 28, 2023, along with the game’s main artwork. FromSoftware has kept fans guessing about what the expansion will contain. The DLC announcement only contained a cryptic message for fans. “Rise, tarnished one, let us walk a new path together.”

But that hasn’t stopped eagle-eyed fans from picking apart all the available information and extrapolating it to form theories about Shadow of Erdtree. Fans are speculating that the expansion will focus on Miquela, Malenia’s brother who is cursed to remain young forever.

Elden Ring received its first free DLC in December 2022 in the form of the Colosseum, a PvP combat zone. The main game itself was released in February 2022 to widespread critical acclaim. The open-world Soulslike action RPG has become a phenomenon, selling more than 20 million copies a year and winning Game of the Year title at The Game Awards 2022.

Elden Ring: Shadow of Erdtree is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
