(Seoul = Larose.VIP) Reporter Jeong Joon-young = Jungnang-gu, Seoul (Chief Ryu Gyeong-gi) announced on the 21st that it is carrying out an ‘Elderly Oral Health Management Project’ to protect the oral health of the elderly.

The district said, “Oral disease can affect systemic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, stroke, diabetes, and dementia, so management is very important,” and added, “To inform the elderly of the importance of oral care and help them maintain oral health, we are holding oral health classes and fluoride. “We have prepared a variety of programs, including a toothbrushing solution project,” he said.

The visiting oral health class is a program where a dentist or professional instructor visits local senior welfare centers, senior centers, and community centers to teach people how to properly manage their oral health. We teach how to care for dentures and implants, and how to relieve dry mouth.

Fluoride mouthwash, which helps prevent cavities and relieve tooth sensitivity, is also provided free of charge. Any Jungnang-gu resident over 60 years of age can receive the solution by visiting the Jungnang-gu Public Health Center Oral Health Department.

District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said, “I hope that providing correct oral health information will help seniors live a healthy old age,” and added, “We will take care of the health of our residents by preparing various health promotion programs.”
