(Seoul = Larose.VIP) Reporter Yang Jeong-woo = With the group action of doctors entering its fourth day, Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min visited the Gimcheon Medical Center in Gyeongbuk, a public medical institution, and personally inspected the local government’s medical preparations.

On this day, Minister Lee Sang-min received a report on the status of the medical center from Gimcheon Medical Center Director Jeong Yong-gu and listened to difficulties related to emergency treatment, such as overtime work.

In addition, the overall public medical system in the Gyeongsangbuk-do region was inspected, including the working status of residents in Gyeongsangbuk-do and the emergency medical and emergency medical care system.

Minister Lee Sang-min encouraged the medical center officials who are quietly working on the front lines of public healthcare, saying, “Thanks to the dedication and hard work of local medical center officials, we have successfully overcome national medical crises such as Corona.”

He went on to say, “The role of public medical institutions is more urgent than ever to prevent medical gaps caused by collective action by doctors,” and asked, “Please proceed without a hitch with local emergency medical treatment measures, prioritizing the lives and health of the people.”

In Gyeongsangbuk-do, 9 emergency medical centers, 21 local emergency medical institutions, and 8 emergency medical facilities function as emergency rooms 24 hours a day, minimizing gaps in treatment.

In addition, four provincial and county medical centers and two Red Cross hospitals in the province are operating an emergency treatment system, including on-call specialists, two-hour extended work hours on weekdays, normal work hours on Saturdays, and the formation and operation of emergency work teams for serious, emergency, and surgical cases in preparation for the concentration of patients. .
