(Seoul = Larose.VIP) Reporter Kim Ki-hoon = Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon held an emergency meeting with the heads of eight Seoul city hospitals in the city hall video conference room at 2 p.m. on the 24th and discussed emergency treatment measures in response to doctors’ collective action.

This meeting was prepared to check the situation at public medical sites and minimize damage to citizens as the ‘serious’ level of health care disaster crisis warning was issued the previous day.

At the meeting that day, Mayor Oh said, “The more difficult times are, the more important city hospitals are to show the value of public hospitals,” and urged, “Let’s overcome the crisis by working together to minimize inconvenience to patients and citizens.”

Next, we inspected the city’s emergency medical system and measures to reduce medical gaps, and listened to the medical conditions at each hospital and personnel circulation plans.

The city plans to make efforts to secure alternative personnel, such as senior medical staff, and spare no financial support to ensure that public hospitals can fulfill their role in emergency medical situations.

In addition, measures were taken to provide flexibility in managing the number of medical staff at each hospital to facilitate securing manpower.

Attending the meeting on this day were Seoul Medical Center Director Lee Hyun-seok, Lee Jae-hyeop, Boramae Hospital Director, Dongbu Hospital Director So Yun-seop, Northern Hospital Director Song Kwan-young, Seonam Hospital Director Pyo Chang-hae, Eunpyeong Hospital Director Choi Jong-hyuk, Seobuk Hospital Director Lee Chang-gyu, and Children’s Hospital Director Nam Min.
