The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is still a few months away, but a new leak has revealed more information about the handset. According to a recent report, the South Korean tech giant may launch a premium version of the standard model called Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra this year as well, although details about the same are not known. Now, a tipster has revealed the possible sizes and display ratios of the standard Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 model, and based on the information, the foldable product may see some design changes.

According to a post by Ice Universe on X (formerly Twitter), the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 could weigh significantly less than its predecessor. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 released last year weighed 253g, but compared to this, this year’s model weighs 239g. For reference, it is the same weight as the One Plus Open.

Weight isn’t the only improvement that foldable smartphones can make. The informant said in a separate post, “The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 standard version is 5.6mm thick when unfolded, 12.1mm thick when folded, and weighs 239g. The resolution of both the internal and external screens has been improved. The internal screen is 7.6 inches, 7:6 ratio, and the external screen is 6.3 inches, 22:9 ratio.”

The thickness of the smartphone has been reduced compared to its predecessor, both in the folded and unfolded states for unpacking. This means that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 will fit much more comfortably in your pocket. The external display is also slightly larger, which means the tech giant can offer thinner bezels. Lastly, the informant highlights that the resolution of both the external and internal displays has been improved.

Additionally, Ice Universe shared an image with the phrase, “This is the prototype of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.” The photo shows a stick-shaped smartphone that looks quite similar to the Z Fold 5 released last year. At this point, not much is known about Samsung’s foldable products. However, a report last week suggested that both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 could come with a 25W wired charging solution. If this is true, the charging speeds of this year’s foldables will not improve compared to last year’s models.
