During a high school class meeting, the class leader draws a pyramid on the blackboard and explains it to the other students in the class. The students all respond that it is a familiar story, but Seong Su-ji (played by Kim Ji-yeon), who recently transferred to the school, looks puzzled.
Once the class leader’s explanation is over, voting using a mobile phone application (app) begins. Each person must vote for five other people in the class, and they are divided into grades A through D in order of the number of votes. Those who do not receive a ticket will receive an F grade.
The grades divided in this way become ranks, and students in higher grades brutally bully their classmates in grade F. Seong Su-ji, who jumps into the game without any preparation, gets an F grade in the first vote and suffers bullying that borders on torture.
The 10-part drama ‘Pyramid Game’, which TVING released episodes 1 to 4 on the 29th, tells the story of five second-year classes at Baekyeon Girls’ High School who play the pyramid game, a vote to determine rank in the class once a month.
Seong Su-ji, who changes schools frequently due to her soldier father’s frequent transfers, thought she would quickly fit in among her friends at Baekyeon Girls’ High School, but her painful days begin when she becomes an outcast as a result of the pyramid game played on the last Thursday of every month.
The friends who had been friendly until just before the game begin to harass Seong Soo-ji in various ways, such as covering her face with plastic to prevent her from breathing or locking her in a garbage bag, just because she has become F-level.

Seong Su-ji, who is cornered, realizes that the pyramid game was carefully designed by someone. In the first place, only class 5 of the second grade had classrooms in a separate building, unlike other classes, and only this building had no closed-circuit (CCTV) TV, so no evidence was left behind.
The person behind the game is Baek Harin (Jang Da-ah), the successor to the conglomerate Baekyeon Group and the daughter of the chairman of Baekyeon Girls’ High School. Baek Harin reigns at the top, receiving the most votes every time.
In order to escape from bullying, Seong Soo-ji joins hands with Myeong Ja-eun (Ryu Da-in), who is also in F grade, and tries to push other students apart to move up to a higher level, but Myeong Ja-eun refuses, saying she cannot put other students in pain.
However, a month later, in the second pyramid game in which Seong Su-ji participated, Su-ji unexpectedly received several votes, moving away from F and becoming C grade.
Seong Su-ji tries to continue her school life with peace of mind, but memories of being bullied for a month keep coming back to her, and she becomes anxious at the thought that she might get an F again in the next vote. Accordingly, Seong Su-ji begins to move to break the pyramid game.

‘Pyramid Game’ is a drama that explains in an easy-to-understand manner why unreasonable and unfair school violence occurs and why it does not disappear.
Even though low-level students can become victims at any time, they are unable to resist the system and choose to become bystanders who watch their friends being bullied. If I carelessly ignore the eyes of students with higher grades, I might get an F next month.
Even though Baek Harin designed this whole situation, she only enjoys her position in the class and does not bother the students directly, but just enjoys the situation behind the scenes. She is the daughter of the chairman and, on the surface, she is a model student, so she is not exposed to any disadvantages or sanctions.

In addition to this interesting story structure, the appearance of a large number of young new actors is also noteworthy. The role of Seong Su-ji, the main character, was played by Kim Ji-yeon (Bona), a member of the group Cosmic Girls, and Baek Ha-rin, who hides her vicious appearance behind her kind face, was played by Jang Da-ah, the older sister of Ive Jang Won-young.
In addition, Shin Seul-gi, who appeared in Season 2 of the Netflix series ‘Solo Hell’, Kang Na-eon, the younger sister of actor Kang Dong-hyun, Ryu Da-bin, who showed an impressive appearance in the drama ‘Ilta Scandal’, and who appeared in the dramas ‘Juvenile Judgment’ and ‘Benefiting Fraud’ Hwang Hyun-jung and others appear as students in the same class.
However, until episode 4, which is halfway through the episode, two pyramid games are played and the process of introducing the faces of the students in the class unfolds rather slowly, so viewers who are used to fast-paced plots may feel a bit frustrated.
Although the original webtoon of the same name was adapted to suit the characteristics of the drama, it is difficult to avoid the setting being exaggerated and awkward. There are concerns that the cumbersome setup of selecting victims through monthly voting may be considered boring and unrealistic by some viewers.
‘Pyramid Game’ is released sequentially twice every Friday, and will be unveiled until the final episode on the 21st of next month.
