Manchester United are planning a blockbuster new Inter Milan attack, Aston Villa are in talks to sign a Turkish striker and Monday’s Euro Paper Talk includes an update on Chelsea striker targets.

Manchester United want Serie A star

Manchester United have reportedly drawn up a bid to strengthen their defense by signing Alessandro Bastoni from Inter this summer.

Manchester United spent £47 million on Andre Onana as their new goalkeeper last summer. Onana has had a very interesting season, making some terrible mistakes early in the campaign before improving his performances recently.

Onana’s early struggles do not appear to have prevented Manchester United from re-signing the Inter player. According to reports in Italy, Manchester United are chasing Bastoni.

The left-footed centre-back is having a stellar season, making 33 appearances in all competitions and playing a key role in Inter’s move to Serie A glory.

According to WhoScored, he is Inter’s best defender this season, with an average rating of 7.17. And he has reportedly been affectionately described as ‘the best defender in Serie A’ this season, which explains why United are chasing him.

Manchester United owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly looking for a new left-centre defender, with Lisandro Martinez sidelined with multiple injuries this season.

Don’t miss: FIVE MAN Utd signed to keep Ten Hag in place and make the Red Devils a major force again.

Ratcliffe likes Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite but sources have confirmed to TEAMtalk that the move is under threat as Everton are demanding more than £70m.

With Bastoni having been in excellent form recently, it would take a ‘super offer’ for Manchester United to pry him away from the Italian giants.

Ratcliffe eyes Bastoni as an alternative to Branthwaite.

But that is exactly what Ratcliffe and Man Utd are planning to do. Because the Italy international will still cost less than Branthwaite. Inter Milan offered €60m (£52m), a price that Manchester United could certainly match.

Bastoni could form a new-look backline at Old Trafford next season, and Manchester United are also hoping to bring in a new right-sided centre-back to replace Raphael Varane. Manchester United are targeting Juventus’ Gleyson Bremer, while Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo is also a possible target.

In terms of Man Utd’s interest in Bastoni, the £52m raid could end up being an absolute steal. At 25 years old, Bastoni still has his prime years left in him and has the potential to be a dominant force at Champions League level in the future.
