Nothing Phone 2a was launched in India in March this year. The handset has several upgrades over the Nothing Phone 1 and a complete design overhaul compared to the Phone 1 and Phone 2. It is currently available domestically in two colors and three RAM and storage configurations. The company has now teased the launch of a new special Phone 2a edition in India. It hasn’t been revealed how this will differ from the standard model, but leaks suggest it will likely be a new color option.

Nothing India teased the new version of the Phone 2a in a post on X (formerly Twitter). It will be released in Korea on April 29th at 12 PM (IST). The company claims that the product is “designed for India” but did not disclose any further details. The same Flipkart banner confirms its availability on the e-commerce platform.

There are speculations that Nothing Phone 2a is likely to be released in new colors. Tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh) makes the same suggestion. An Android Authority report suggests that it could launch in a yellow option, similar to the Nothing Ear A, which comes in black, white, and yellow. Another tipster Technerd (@Technerd_9) claims that the phone will be launched in a blue color option.

However, it is important to note that this Nothing Phone 2a special edition is different from the Phone 2a Community Edition project announced last month. According to the official schedule, the latter will be released in the second half of this year. The company announced the hardware design winners for this edition. It has been confirmed to feature a green-tinted phosphorescent material finish.

Nothing Phone 2a is currently available in Black and White color options in India. Starting from Rs. 23,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model, while the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB configurations are priced at Rs. 25,999 and Rs. 27,999 each. The smartphone comes with MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC, 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging, 6.7-inch 120Hz Full HD+ AMOLED display, dual 50-megapixel rear cameras, and 32-megapixel selfie camera.

Will Nothing Phone 2 be a successor to Phone 1, or will the two coexist? In Orbital’s latest episode of the Gadgets 360 podcast, the company discusses the company’s recently launched phones in detail. Orbital is available on Spotify, Gaana, JioSaavn, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, and wherever you get your podcasts.
