Yongsan-gu Romantic Song Festival held
(Seoul = Larose.VIP) Reporter Jeong Joon-young = Seoul Yongsan-gu (district mayor Park Hee-young) announced on the 7th that it will hold a ‘Romantic Song Festival’ at Yongsan Art Hall at 2 p.m. on the 8th in conjunction with the Yongsan City Senior Welfare Center to celebrate Parents’ Day.
This event is a singing contest for seniors over 65 years of age.
Last month, the district received participation applications from seniors living in the district and selected 12 finalists out of 42 participants in the preliminary round on April 26.
The oldest person to advance to the finals is 88 years old, and the participating song is ‘What’s My Age?’
The proceedings are as follows: ▲ pre-ceremony performance ▲ commemorative ceremony ▲ contest ▲ announcement of evaluation results ▲ awards ▲ prize drawing. Cho Hye-jin, director of Yongsan Senior Welfare Center, Yongsan-gu Mayor Park Hee-young, National Assembly member Kwon Young-se, and Yongsan-gu Council Chairman Oh Cheon-jin will give carnations to the 12 seniors who advanced to the finals.
The total prize money, including the highest prize, the gold prize (500,000 won), is 1.9 million won. All finalists will receive an encouragement prize (KRW 100,000) or more. Prizes, including refrigerators, will be given out to 15 visitors through a drawing.
District Mayor Park Hee-young said, “I applaud the courage of the seniors who go on stage at the Romantic Song Festival held in a 700-seat large theater,” and added, “We will prepare for a rich feast that contestants and visitors can enjoy together.”
