Honor unveiled the Magic V2 foldable smartphone in global markets excluding China at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024. Now, the Chinese tech brand is looking to launch its Magic series of foldables in the Indian market. HTech CEO Madhav Sheth has given a clear hint about the launch of the Honor Magic lineup in the country. Honor’s latest foldable series includes the regular Honor Magic V2 and Honor Magic V2 RSR. It runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
Madhav Sheth announced the imminent launch of the Honor Magic foldable phone in India through an X post on Tuesday, May 21. The post includes a launch announcement poster for the Vivo “The Honor Magic series will realistically exceed the expectations of Indian consumers,” the post reads.
Notably, Sheth did not reveal the exact launch date of the Magic series in India or the models that will be launched in the country, but this will definitely be opposed to the upcoming Vivo X Fold 3 Pro in India.
Honor Magic V2 was announced at IFA 2023 in September last year. The company later collaborated with Porsche Design to launch a special edition Honor Magic V2 RSR. The product was announced in select markets in February during MWC 2024.
Both Honor Magic V2 and Honor Magic V2 RSR run on MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13. It features a 6.43-inch OLED cover display and a 7.92-inch internal OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and is paired with 16GB RAM and up to 1TB internal storage. The foldable is an excellent product, measuring only 9.9mm.
Honor has equipped the Magic V2 series with a triple rear camera unit consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 20-megapixel telephoto unit. It is equipped with a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The handset is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 66W wired charging.
The European price of the Honor Magic V2 RSR is set at EUR 2,699 (roughly Rs. 2,42,000) for the 16GB RAM + 1TB storage version.
