Opera announced a partnership with Google Cloud on Tuesday (May 28) to integrate AI-powered features into Aria browser AI. As part of the collaboration, the artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot integrated into the Opera One browser will now be based on Gemini, Google’s Large Language Model (LLM), and will have image generation capabilities and text-to-audio capabilities. It’s part of the platform’s new AI Feature Drops program.
Google Cloud-Opera Partnership
In a blog post, Opera announced that Aria browser AI, powered by the multi-LLM Composer AI engine, will benefit from the Gemini integration. According to the company, the move will provide users of the Opera One browser with “high-performance, up-to-date information.”
The new features will initially be available as part of AI Feature Drops. AI Feature Drops is a new program that allows early adopters to try out experimental features before they are released to the public. Opera One Developer beta now offers image generation capabilities based on Imagen 2, Google’s text-to-image diffusion model for Vertex AI.
