Vodafone Idea (Vi) on Wednesday launched a new prepaid plan that offers a free subscription to Netflix. The telecom service provider is bundling the free Netflix basic plan with certain prepaid recharge plans for the duration of the plan validity. The plan also offers the usual telecom benefits including daily internet data balance, free unlimited calls and 100 free SMS per day. Notably, last year, telecom companies Airtel and Jio also announced similar Netflix bundle recharge plans for their respective subscribers.

There are two recharge plans that Vi’s prepaid subscribers can purchase to avail of their free Netflix subscription. Netflix bundles start at Rs. 998 offers unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day, 1.5GB data per day, and Netflix Basic subscription for 70 days. This plan is available in all circles except Gujarat and Mumbai. Users in Gujarat and Mumbai will have to pay Rs. 1,099 for the same offer.
The price of the second charging fee is 5,000 won. 1,399 gets you unlimited calls, 100 free SMS per day, 2.5GB data per day, and a basic subscription to Netflix for 84 days.

This plan is available to both users who already have a Netflix account and those who have not yet created a Netflix account. Once recharge is complete, users will need to open the Vi app and go to the plan benefits page. After clicking on Netflix, users will be redirected to the Netflix app or website where they can create a new account to connect or connect an existing account.
If you already subscribe to a Netflix plan, linking your account will pause your current subscription and automatically launch your Vi plan. However, if users have a Netflix subscription through Apple, they will need to cancel their subscription first. Otherwise, Apple may charge you a fee.
Once the recharge plan expires, users will be switched to the previously added payment method and their Netflix experience will be uninterrupted. If you haven’t added another payment method, your account will be placed on hold. Users can then visit their Netflix account page to manually select a plan and add a payment method.
Apart from this offer, the Netflix Basic plan is available at a price of Rs. 199. Available in a maximum video resolution of 720p and can be viewed on one home device at a time. This plan supports all devices, including TVs, computers, smartphones, and tablets. This plan also allows users to download content to either device for offline viewing.
