The four-item iPhone 16 family is expected to be officially launched in September. It is speculated that Apple will reduce the bezels of the iPhone 16 Pro models. The phone is said to have the “world’s thinnest bezels,” surpassing even the Galaxy S24 Ultra. A tipster has now leaked the dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, suggesting the phones will be bigger. Small bezels help Apple include a larger screen without significantly increasing the overall size of the phone.

Tipster Instant Digital on Weibo (Chinese translation) claimed that the iPhone 16 Pro measures 149.6 x 71.45 x 8.25mm and weighs 194g. For comparison, last year’s iPhone 15 Pro measures 146.6 x 70.6 x 8.25mm and weighs 187g.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro Max measures 163.02 x 77.58 x 8.26mm compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 159.9 x 76.7 x 8.25mm. This model is reported to weigh 225g, which is heavier than the previous model’s 221g.

The leaked dimensions suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro variant will be slightly larger, heavier and wider, while the bezels will be less prominent. This claim was also echoed by X’s famous tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce).

According to recent leaks, the iPhone 16 Pro has a 1.2mm bezel, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max has a 1.15mm bezel. This is a noticeable change from the 1.71mm bezel on the iPhone 15 Pro. The Pro model could surpass the Galaxy S24 and become the “world’s thinnest bezel phone.” Narrow bezels will allow Apple to increase the screen size in future models. Reducing the bezel size adds a premium feel and allows more space for content.

The iPhone 16 Pro is said to have a 6.3-inch screen, which is larger than its predecessor’s 6.1-inch screen. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to sport a 6.9-inch display, up from 6.7 inches on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

It is reported that Apple will announce the iPhone 16 lineup in September. In addition to thin bezels, the iPhone 16 Pro models are likely to feature new capacitive buttons. It is expected to be equipped with the A18 Pro chip. The regular iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to be powered by the A18 Bionic chip based on TSMC’s 3nm process.
