(Seoul = Larose.VIP) Reporter Choi Jae-seo = YG Plus, a subsidiary of YG Entertainment, is entering the domestic art market with an artist management business.
YG Plus announced on the 19th, “We have established Korea’s first art label, PEECES,” and “PEECES will attempt an artist management business using the K-pop business model.”
Physis is an art management label that applies the K-pop singer management system to artists in the art field.
The label name is a combination of ‘Art Piece’, meaning a work of art, and ‘Peace’, meaning peace, and contains the vision of allowing people to enjoy art comfortably in their daily lives.
YG Plus plans to apply the know-how it has accumulated through entertainment intellectual property (IP) business, such as MD (product) planning and global marketing, to the label.
Physis will hold its first exhibition ‘House of Taste’ in Yongsan-gu, Seoul from the 23rd to the 5th of next month.
This exhibition introduces the works of eight artists, including Kim Mi-young, Moon Seung-ji, Bokhim, Baek Hana, Oh Jae-hoon, Lee Akcraft, Jeong Soo-young, and Chae Ji-min.
YG Plus said, “Just as K-pop has achieved global success, PCIS will also play a pivotal role in popularizing K-art and opening a global era.”
