Infinix Smart 8 HD will be officially launched in India on December 8. Just days before its official debut, the company, owned by China’s Transsion Holdings, confirmed in a press release that the smartphone will come with the Magic Ring feature. The Magic Ring appears to be a pill-shaped black bar that extends out of the selfie camera cutout. An animation about face unlocking will be displayed and a notification will also be provided. The new feature is very similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island and Realme’s Mini Capsule. The Infinix Smart 8 HD will join the Smart 8 which was launched earlier this month.
Infinix teased the Magic Ring feature of the upcoming Infinix Smart 8 HD through a press release on Tuesday. It looks like an animated elongated pill-shaped notch centered around the front camera cutout that can display animations and notifications. The Magic Ring can also be used to display real-time details such as charging completion notifications, call management, and charging animations, as per Infinix.
Magic Ring is similar to the Dynamic Island feature available on iPhone 15 series and iPhone 14 Pro models. Realme has also introduced a similar Mini Capsule feature on the Realme C55 that displays the phone’s charging status, data usage, and steps. The Infinix Smart 8 HD is said to be the first smartphone in the Sub-R range. 6,000 segments including Magic Ring functionality.
Infinix Smart 8 HD will be launched in India on December 8. It has been confirmed that it will be available in four color options, including Crystal Green, Galaxy White, Shiny Gold, and Timber Black.
Infinix Smart 8 HD features dual rear cameras. It features a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. The phone offers USB Type-C connectivity and UFS 2.2 built-in storage. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor is included for authentication.
