Drug offenses on the rise (CG)
(Daegu = Larose.VIP) Reporter Deok-gi Lee = Daegu City announced on the 26th that Daedong Hospital in Dong-gu was selected by the Ministry of Health and Welfare as a drug addiction treatment and protection institution in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region.
Drug addiction treatment and protection institutions are designated to determine drug addiction or to treat people determined to be drug addicts in accordance with Article 40 of the Narcotics Management Act.
Accordingly, Daedong Hospital will receive government funding of 100 million won and provide a systematic treatment and rehabilitation system for drug addicts in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions on a regular basis.
Health and Welfare Director Chung Eui-gwan said, “We expect that the designation as a regional drug addiction treatment and protection institution will allow us to effectively respond to the increasing treatment of drug addicts.”
If a drug addict or a family member wishes to receive treatment, they can receive free inpatient or outpatient treatment at Daegu Hospital (☎ 053-663-1008) or Daegu Medical Center (☎053-560-7575), which are Daegu City-designated drug addiction treatment institutions.
