Arsenal have confirmed four major signings for the summer worth a total of €170 million, Liverpool have been linked with two wingers worth €110 million, Manchester United are planning a move for a teenage midfield sensation and Leeds ‘s star Crysencio Somerville has chosen his next player. club.

EDU receives approval to sign Benjamin Cesco from Arsenal

Arsenal are all set to land Benjamin Cesco this summer after they appeared to be left as the only suitors for the RB Leipzig striker.

The Slovenian forward has emerged as one of the best and most powerful strikers in the game, scoring 69 goals in 165 career appearances before the age of 21. After adapting brilliantly to Bundesliga life following his move from sister club RB Salzburg, the 28-year-old star now appears ready to take his career to the next level.

Underpinning his move is a tempting exit clause, which TEAMtalk sources understand is set at around €65m rather than the €50m previously expected.

And while the likes of AC Milan and Chelsea are chasing Cesco, Milan are likely to be left out of the bid due to a new asking price that Leipzig are not prepared to compromise on. Meanwhile, Chelsea is expected to make the Napoli player their top target and then recruit Victor Osimhen instead.

This leaves Arsenal as Sesko’s only suitors. Sesko’s agent Elvis Basanovic was in England during the spring trying to attract his client’s attention.

Sesko agent clears way for Arsenal

In an interview with SportsKlub, Basanovic spoke about the future of his clients.

“I would say Benjamin is under consideration for both the Premier League and Serie A. But out of respect I cannot mention the name of the club,” he admitted.

“We are talking about the best clubs. We have to realize that Benjamin is at a top club now. Few people realize how big a club Leipzig is. We will certainly have an eventful few weeks ahead of us.”

The 20-year-old has been offered a new contract by Leipzig that could either increase the release clause or remove it. His current contract runs until the summer of 2028.

“Benjamin will have more opportunities at the end of the season. But that’s his decision,” his agent said.

“We will suggest what is best for his long-term development. Leipzig are trying extremely hard to keep Benjamin. They have their say in terms of development and are also a big club with great conditions. They have powerful cards. Healthy development takes precedence over economic aspects.”

When asked where customers can go next, Basanovic added: “It’s difficult in Italy. [clubs] I can afford it [him] now. I’ve said a lot about it. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. The decision is up to Benjamin. It is our duty to make him an offer.”

Clubs from the Saudi Professional League have also expressed interest, but his agent is adamant that he will not leave for the Middle East.

“I can confirm that there is interest, but at the same time Benjamin will not leave Europe under any circumstances. At least not now,” his agent concluded.

Arsenal moves to sign Feyenoord goalkeeper

Arsenal are also planning life after Aaron Ramsdale this summer and want to sign Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow as cover and competition for David Raya next season.

With Raya set to confirm his move to the Emirates in the coming weeks, the Gunners will allow Ramsdale to leave after the England player became disillusioned with observation briefings from the bench.

And while a potential move to Newcastle remains uncertain, what is certain is that he could move with Arsenal looking for a new back-up stopper.

According to reports from the Netherlands, the hunt led them to Bijlow, where they may be allowed to move this summer.

The eight-time Netherlands international has previously been linked with Manchester United, with the Red Devils offering €30 million for his signature in January.

However, the Eredivisive side will consider reducing his sales somewhat this summer as the player suffered a number of frustrating injuries during last season, including a wrist problem.

And while Liverpool are also being linked, it is Arsenal who are leading the chase following a strong recommendation from Mikel Arteta’s assistant Albert Stuibenberg. A fee of €20m was proposed.

Gunners move Antonio Silva and also chase Fenerbahce left-back

The Gunners are also ready to compete with Liverpool for the signature of Benfica defender Antonio Silva.

The 20-year-old central defender has emerged as one of the leading young defenders in the game, drawing comparisons to Manchester City stalwart Ruben Dias.

The nine-time Portugal international has a whopping €100m release clause in his deal. And while Benfica want to get as close to that level as possible, they realize that achieving that fee seems impossible even for his numerous suitors.

However, financial need will force Benfica to look to sell their prized asset and now reports in England and Portugal suggest that Arsenal are ready to put themselves firmly in the hunt, launching a €60m bid for Silva.

Meanwhile, journalist Sasha Tavolieri is adamant that the Gunners will make a move to sign Fenerbahce left-back Ferdi Kadioglu, who is valued at €25 million.

The Gunners are hoping to sign a new left-back, with the likes of Jakub Kiwior, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksandr Zinchenko being signed throughout the season.

And Arteta and Edu are said to have set their sights on the Turkey international, who finished the season with six goals in all competitions.

The moves of all four players will set Arsenal back a combined €170m (£144.5m) and further strengthen the Gunners’ squad ahead of what they hope will be a successful 2024/25 campaign.

The Gunners also want a new midfield partner for Declan Rice this summer and will likely need to sell some players to generate additional funds and stay within the FFP limit.
