Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro will soon be launched in markets outside China. The company held an AI conference in London on Wednesday where it announced plans to offer smartphones with generative AI capabilities to about 50 million users by the end of the year. Launched in China in May this year, the Oppo Reno 12 series will be launched in several global markets. The next Find A press release from the London AI Conference confirmed that these smartphones will come with generative AI tools such as AI Toolbox, including AI Writer and AI Recording Summary.
The press statement did not reveal a clear timeline for the global launch, but according to a GSMArena report, the company announced during the meeting that the Oppo Reno 12 lineup will launch globally later this month, i.e. in June. The company also reportedly teased the upcoming launch with an image showing the silhouettes of two phones.
Meanwhile, there is no mention of the release schedule for the next-generation Find As the Oppo Find In particular, the Oppo Find X7 and Find X7 Ultra (review) were not released outside of China.
Oppo Reno 12, Reno 12 Pro specifications
Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro feature a 6.7-inch 120Hz Full HD+ 1.5K curved OLED screen with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The base Oppo Reno 12 comes with MediaTek Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition SoC, while the Reno 12 Pro is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition chipset. Both phones feature a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W SuperVOOC charging.
For optics, the Oppo Reno 12 is equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 primary sensor, while the Pro version is equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main sensor. The handset also features an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera along with a 50-megapixel telephoto camera and a 50-megapixel front camera with up to 20x digital zoom.
