The Lenovo Legion Go portable gaming console was launched globally at the Internationale FunkAusstellung Berlin (IFA) showcase event last September. Windows-based devices powered by the new AMD Ryzen Z1 series processors will be available in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) markets this month. There is no official word from Lenovo about the launch schedule for the Indian market, but the Lenovo Legion India Instagram page seems to have hinted at a regional launch window for the handheld. The Lenovo Legion Go handheld could launch in India next year.

According to gaming industry insider Rishi Alwani, the Lenovo Legion India Instagram handle responded to a question about the availability of the portable gaming device in India. In response to a question from X (formerly Twitter) user Shanthosh Somasunthar (@SSomasunthar) about the Lenovo Legion Go, the account revealed that the device is expected to launch in India in March 2024. Alwani posted a screenshot of his interaction in X, providing some hints. This explains when the console will be available for release in your country. However, the Lenovo Legion India page refers to the device as a “Lenovo Legion Go laptop”, which could be a mistake or a misunderstanding.

As mentioned earlier, Lenovo has not announced a launch window or price for the Legion Go handheld in India. The device is priced at EUR 799 (approx. Rs. 70,000) in EMEA markets and is available in Shadow Black color.

But fans of the game in India can be hopeful. Handheld devices are a niche segment of the country’s growing gaming market, but popular products in the category like Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck remain popular among enthusiasts. Although Nintendo and Valve do not have an official presence in India, imported models of both the handheld devices are easily available through third-party sellers on e-commerce websites. Last July, Asus officially launched the ROG Ally portable gaming device in India. The price is Rs. 69,990, the RC71L model of the Asus ROG Ally comes with an AMD Z1 Extreme processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB internal storage, and a 7-inch LCD display. The handheld is available from Asus e-shop or Flipkart as well as Asus and ROG stores.

Lenovo Legion Go features an 8.8-inch QHD+ display that supports up to 144Hz refresh rate. Runs on Windows 11 Home with Legion Space software installed. Powered by the new AMD Ryzen Z1 series processors, this handheld features up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. Available storage can be expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card slot.
